I read this speech years ago but never saw the video.
Every elected official should be made to watch this at least once a week (if not daily).
RM,
How do you feel about the part at around 24 minutes - when he discusses the tough moral choice between fight and surrender - war? To me it sounds contrary to Paul's message, but I wanted to know what you thought.
Where is the road to peace? Telling our enemies there is a point beyond which they must not advance. Islamic jihadists are our enemy.

The way I see it, we are our own worst enemy. We would rather surrender our freedoms and rights for temporary safety. That's where the main fight is here in this country.
However, Gary Kasparov was recently interviewed on Bill Maher's show, and he talked about the difference he sees between Reagan's foreign policy and the foreign policy we have now. His perspective, having seen both sides of the iron curtain is illuminating. Kasparov's conclusion is that it's our interference in the region, playing favorites with one dictatorship and overthrowing another. Threatening to bomb and invade countries that have never threatened us that causes people to resort to terrorism over there.
The question we should be asking is are the things we are doing in that part of the world creating more jihadists at a rate faster than we can send them back to Allah?
