Five Degrees of Moderate

Not quite siren worthy according to Drudge but a big deal to the "Values Voters" whom Huckabee has been gaining endorsements and momentum. Pilfered from the WSJ:

Phyllis Schlafly, president of the national Eagle Forum, is even more blunt. "He (Huckabee) destroyed the conservative movement in Arkansas, and left the Republican Party a shambles," she says. "Yet some of the same evangelicals who sold us on George W. Bush as a 'compassionate conservative' are now trying to sell us on Mike Huckabee."

I didn't see this quote on Drudge, but I did see it elsewhere this morning. The truth is she may be right. I've been doing some more reading about Huckabee over the last few days and think that maybe he is like Bush.

I'm mostly concerned about Huckabee because of his poor report with the Center Against Government Waste.

I posted a bit about Huckabee today as he relates to the field of candidates and the Krauthammer column on it. I'm reading two different pieces about Huckabee today. It's interesting where he stands as we dig a little deeper into his record.

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.
