Pajamas Media Blogosphere Reaction to Falling Dollar and Government Bailouts: Outrage and Silence But Mostly Silence

I took a brief survey of the Pajamas Media Blogosphere that I visit on my web travels looking for the reactions to the dollar crisis that has been brewing for awhile and is finally coming to a head. Let's see:

Hotair: There's a nice video of Dana Perino's appearance on the Daily Show, but no mention of the Bear Stearns bailout by the government, or the continued free fall of the dollar. Come on, I would have thought Ed Morrissey would have had something to say about it.

LGF: There's a couple of entries about Obama and his religion, Elliot Spitzer gets goofed on a bit as well. But nothing about the economy or the dollar there either.

Malkin: Michelle See-dubya has a story about Obama, Michelle writes about Dickie Scruggs as well as an entry about the super-secret session in Congress that didn't accomplish anything. Anything about the financial health of the country? Not today, maybe something on Monday.

Ace: We have a winner! An entry on the bailout for Bear Stearns. It's a brief mention because entries about Obama and Spitzer dominate.

One entry out of all of the PJM blogs I visited mentioned the big financial news today. What's wrong with them? They are supposed to be "conservative" but nothing about the bailout? Malkin, to her credit, has talked about the sub prime mortgage crisis that has been developing into a story over the past year, and her take on that has been correct. Suck it up, no bailouts for the people who took crappy loans. Does that apply to the banks and other financial institutions? I don't recall seeing any mention from her about the dollar tanking in the past few months either. Why is that?

Random Thought

I would love to see a Barack Obama vs. Ron Paul debate. To have both of them go head to head and present their ideas about the course that this country should take. Take an unabashed liberal, the most liberal Senator in the country and put him up against the most conservative Congressman in the country. THAT would be great, THAT would be a true battle of ideas.

The Early Results in NH are in: McCain and Obama win

Residents of two tiny towns stayed up late to give Barack Obama and John McCain early victories in the New Hampshire presidential primary.

Voters in two small New Hampshire villages, Dixville Notch and Hart's Location, cast the initial ballots just after midnight Tuesday.

In Hart's Location, Democrat Obama received nine votes, Hillary Rodham Clinton received three and John Edwards received one. On the Republican side, McCain received six, Mike Huckabee received five, Ron Paul received four and Mitt Romney one.

LA Obama Supporter makes the Switch

I had heard about this story awhile back. It's not that big of a deal, people change their minds all the time. What is interesting is this particular Barack Obama supporter was one of his first grassroots supporters. He created a website (previous version here) that served as a hub of Obama campaign activity. In an email exchange, the supporter, Marc Whittemore, wrote this (pilfered from Isilion):

Never having been involved politically I just happened to anticipate his move of running for president and managed to start the first Obama for President meetup.com site. By virtue of that excellent timing along with my substantial internet and design (Art Director) experience I slaved away as the Director for ObamaLA literally putting in 40 to 70 hours minimum for months and months (on top of a full time job) to build the ObamaLA website (old site: http://obamala.com/index_old.html ), fill it with content, all the while brain-storming with other key people that came forth to volunteer trying to come up with an infrastructure that worked and could support a full scale grassroots campaign of several thousand volunteers. I designed the coolest website.. unique t-shirts… ( http://www.cafepress.com/aworkofmarc ) gorgeous buttons — the whole branding, the entire look and feel —ALL of it. It was truly a very professional looking grassroots campaign.
